Stands over 16.2 hands last fall. 2006 Homozygous Black / Homozygous Tobiano DNA Tested Reserve Champion Halter and Futurity colt out of Jaded Lady (by Hot August Nite, out of a Stonewall bred mare). Jade is also the dam of Reserve Champion Pinto Saddle Type filly, “The Flame of Fame”. Icy is going undersaddle and has been in harness with Don Deardorf and Mel Leuch. He is showing a great desire as a Park Horse and like his sire LOVES the attention of the ring. This boy will he hard to beat in or out of the ring. Icy would make a great sire and or show mount. There are very few stallions with breeding, type and talent that are Black Spotted top that off with the BIG BONUS of DNA tested to be Homozygous for BLACK & TOBIANO (spotting gene)...Icy will on non grey mares produce black or bay spotted foals on dilute mares the same with the addition of the possible dilute options for the foal depending on the mare (if she has one or two dilute genes). 2007 Homozygous Pinto (DNA pending but all the right indications) black and white colt with a fantastic pedigree and talent to spare. He has TROT! Harley's dam is by the outstanding ASB sire Kalarama's Spanish Dancer and out of the mare Remember Tropical Gale (maternal grand dam of BLACK KNIGHT ON BROADWAY) by Chubasco. Harley was in training with Don Deardorff and Mel Leuch where he was started under saddle. Harley is expecting his first foal in July 2010 out of Jaded Lady. This should be an outstanding cross. For the future breeders this young man is out of a 16.3 mare and his sire 16.2. He has a super mind and comes from a long line of great producers. We would expect knowing the lines he would continue if bred right to out produce himself...a great complement for any sire and dam. For the competitor who desires color, pretty and proven consistence in produce lines Flashy is a great sire choice. We have added him to our list as an upcoming sire to introduce him for future breeders to keep an eye one him as he matures and allow them to make plans for future breeding.
At present there are 17 registered buckskin and white ASB's according to the ASHA site. Flashy Sky Commander (pending) is bred with a heavy percentage of solid ASB in his pedigree and of strong producing lines to ensure the continuing success of producing show quality colored American Saddlebreds. We strive to increase the gene pool of the colored ASB's through our mares and stallions by introducing new lines with outside sires on occasion. The sire of Flashy was chosen for his breeding and dilution to introduce the CH Sky Watch and others in his pedigree and a dilute gene. Our mares pedigrees, photos etc. have been researched by ASHA and reported to "by pedigree" to carry the Large Heart/ X Factor. It is possible that Flashy is a carrier of the X Factor as this passes to a son through the dam. The Flame of Fame is believed by ASHA to be a Double Copy/ X Factor mare ( Double copy mares frequently produce winners). More X Factor is coming soon. Flames dam Jaded Lady is known for producing outstanding foals and is consistent in producing outstanding foals who mature into stunning Saddlebreds with talent ... to this date all of Jades foals who have produced foals that continue to be a great asset in ASB breeding with color as a wonderful bonus.
For those of you who like size we feel this colt has a great advantage with his dams sire who if reported to stand over 17 hands tall and has many tall genes in his family pool. With the mare contributing the larger percentage of the foals outcome we believe with our female lines in Flashy and your mare selection a Tall Talented get is in your future. SHOW NOTES: We are excited to see what this young man has for us in the upcoming future however he is not able to show ASB until he is older. We had plans to show him and his half sister (a palomino/white) but regretfully the sire nominations where not made by deadline.
